Mason Jar Beach Cocktails

Why limit yourself to just fun in the sun? Why not bring along some fun in mason jars, with these Mason Jar Beach Cocktails — ice-cold fruity treats to keep you cool at the beach.

There really isn’t such thing as a bad beach day – all days spent with sun and sand are considered good in my book. But, when you add an icy cold adult mason jar beach cocktail, it goes from good to excellent. The key to a good beach bev is keeping them ice. cold. A lukewarm cocktail isn’t really worth drinking.

Picture yourself sipping on a Blueberry Basil Lemonade – it’s got sweetness from the blueberries, a zesty lemon kick, and the aromatic touch of fresh basil, all rolling smoothly with the blueberry vodka. Sounds divine, doesn’t it? Or how about a Mango Blackberry Mint Lemonade? It’s like going on an exciting flavour trip with tropical mangoes, zingy blackberries and just a smack of mint! Add to this the refreshing lemonade and you’re in a beachy paradise.

Now, it’s not just the taste, but how these delightful drinks are dressed that increases their appeal. Picture them nestled in an old-school mason jar adding a vintage appeal. And remember, savor every sip, but sip sensibly!

Tips On How To Keep Your Drinks Cold

  1. Keep the vodka in the freezer. It won’t freeze, and it helps keep the drinks really chilled.
  2. Freeze the fruit you are going to use. It serves the same purpose as ice, but won’t dilute the drink.
  3. Don’t fill the jars all the way up. Leave some room for ice just before you are going to drink them.
  4. Keep a separate Ziploc bag full of clean ice in the cooler. This keeps sandy hands out of the ice and ultimately out of the cocktails.

FAQs

What do you recommend for virgin versions?

If you wanted to keep these alcohol-free, you could add some flavored syrups instead.

Any suggestions on which flavored vodkas to go with?

There are so many flavored vodkas these days that you could make lots of different kinds. Raspberry, peach, pomegranate. One reader suggested adding a dash of limoncello and a little less lemonade. Might be worth a try.

Where can I find lids and straws like this for my mason jars?

It says in the post, a craft store like Michael’s. I got mine on Etsy a few years ago.

How To Store Mason Jar Beach Cocktails

One of the great things about these cocktails and that they’re served in mason jars is that they can be stored in the fridge until you’re ready to drink them. So you are not stuck mixing drinks minutes before you’re set to leave for the beach! Given that there’s fruit in these, I wouldn’t make them too far in advance; a couple of days tops. I wouldn’t recommend freezing these drinks.
