Gently drift off to a dreamy land of slumber with the Sleepy Girl mocktail.

A frosty glass of Sleepy Girl Mocktail with ice, next to a pitcher of sparkling water.

All week, the weather has been dreary. Dark gray clouds have been hovering over every head, dribbling a cold rain onto the city that seemed to defeat the stoutest umbrella, pelting each poor soul in the rat race with icy, depressing wetness. You do your best to concentrate at work, but a tired feeling has seeped into your bones, and every blinding beam of artificial light threatens to create a tension headache.

The week slops onward, slowly, and drenched in a freezing ennui. You fear it might never end. As you try to slip out early once Friday finally arrives, you fear your boss might catch you, demanding that you work all weekend. Mercifully, that doesn’t happen. While the drops of rain continue to splash across your windshield as you haul your exhausted body home, all you can think about is sleep. On the couch, in your bed, or sitting atop the thundermug, it doesn’t matter. Being awake has been nightmarish and disorienting… To sleep, perchance to dream, sounds blissful.

But you’re overtired, and no matter how hard you try, slumber eludes you. Pills and other medicated supplements that cause drowsiness just make you feel drugged and are not your cup of tea, which, by the way, doesn’t work on you either. Reading a book isn’t helping, and the tale filled with wizards and spells has only made you jealous that the characters within have access to sleeping potions. Which makes you wonder… Is there something real like that? Something healthier than what’s in your medicine cabinet?

You look at one of your favorite spots online, the place you go whenever you crave a cocktail and seek something interesting. Perhaps they have a non-alcoholic elixir that might help a tired soul like yours catch some Zzzzs. You find it almost immediately, the Sleepy Girl mocktail. A fizzy and soothing concoction, comprised of cherry juice, some soda and mixed with magnesium. After a quick, wet trip to the corner store to grab what you didn’t already have, you soon find yourself sipping on the tart, dark and effervescent mélange in your favorite comfy chair, a roaring blaze in the fireplace, feeling your eyelids getting heavier as your drink disappears.

Before you know it, you’re in your bed, and as soon as your head sinks into the marshmallow plushness of your pillow, dreamland has opened its doors, inviting you in to swim amongst its comforting warmth.

What makes a Sleepy Girl mocktail?

To craft this viral, virgin TikTok recipe, we’ll need three ingredients. First, a tart and natural cherry juice is required, as it is a good source of melatonin, which aids in helping you sleep. Then, a magnesium glycinate powder, which is said to help alleviate depression and anxiety. Top this off with either club soda or a flavored prebiotic soft drink, like Poppi, which can also possibly help with digestion. Now, none of these are cure-alls or magic potions for whatever may be ailing you, so definitely see your doctor for the best advice. In the meantime, a Sleepy Girl mocktail is a nice and naturally relaxing beverage to sip on as you get ready for bed.
