Enjoy a glass or two of the freshest, crispest ice-cold drink you’ll ever have, the Cucumber Lemonade.

So, it’s late at night. The air has finally cooled down after a brutally hot day. Your air conditioner worked overtime, and now it is finally able to rest as you open a few windows and the screen door, allowing a comfortably chilly breeze to fly through and caress your overheated cheeks. Even with the circulated air blasting you in the face as the hot sun cooked the city from above, sweat still managed to roll down every surface of your body.

But now the sky is dark, and your home is quiet. No longer is the whirring engine of the AC drowning out your television. Even your cat has slowly sauntered back out from under the bed to join you, requesting you put the little guy’s favorite cartoon on for him.

And as SpongeBob starts playing for your fuzzy friend, you’re suddenly overcome with a thirst. Your throat has been dry all day, and while water kept you hydrated, now you want something sweet, crisp and extra refreshing. Then it hits you… A tall, ice-filled glass of cucumber lemonade is the only way to toast the memory of a heatwave.

What Is The Best Alcohol To Use In A Cucumber Lemonade?

Here’s another delicious and refreshing recipe that you can share with the whole family, because there’s not one drop of booze that needs to be added. Sure, if you’re feeling squirrelly, you can add an ounce or two of vodka into your own glass, but the cucumber lemonade is brilliant without any.

4 servings
40 minutes minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 medium cucumbers peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice about 4 lemons
  • 1/2 cup simple syrup
  • Cucumber and lemon slices for serving optional

Instructions

  • Place the chopped cucumbers in a blender. Blend until smooth, then strain the pulp through a fine-mesh sieve to collect about 2 cups of cucumber juice. You can also use a juicer if you have one.
  • In a pitcher, combine the cucumber juice, water, lemon juice, and simple syrup.
  • Chill the lemonade for at least 30 minutes, then serve over ice with optional cucumber and lemon slices.

What glassware and garnish are used?

You’ll need a pitcher that you can cover to keep your cucumber lemonade in, and some tall glasses filled with ice to drink from. Once your beverage is poured in them, garnish with some fresh cucumber and lemon slices.

Can you put liquor in this drink?

If you just HAVE to mix alcohol into whatever you’re drinking, this recipe would do well with some vodka, like I mentioned before. Other spirits that’ll also work are bourbon, rye whiskey, white rum and tequila.
