Energize your night with the bubbly and boisterous Vodka and Red Bull cocktail.

When I lived in New York City, the neighborhood I called home was Astoria, Queens. During the time I was there, I saw that cute and vibrant area grow and blossom into one of the trendiest places on the shores of the East River. I’d take my dogs to Astoria Park, right across the street from me. We would take our time walking under the Triborough and Hellgate Bridges, and sometimes just sit on a bench and watch the boats sail by, or the skateboarders land trick after trick at the skate park that was built there.
Around the corner from my apartment, in the opposite direction of the park, was a bar that my friends and I would visit all the time. The Hellgate Social Club was our regular hangout. We’d show movies there, have birthday parties, and when the owner, George, would throw a themed event, like at Halloween, it seemed that everybody in the city was there. Where else could you see Pinhead from Hellraiser (or someone dressed like him) breakdance?
Unfortunately, this place no longer exists, but the memories do. And they’re strong, I might add, as strong as the cocktails we used to drink at the bar there. Tonight’s recipe is the first thing I ever ordered my first night at the Hellgate Social Club: a Vodka and Red Bull. It kept me up all night, which was fine by me.
The best way to make unforgettable memories is to make sure you stay awake for them.
What Is The Best Vodka To Use In A Vodka And Red Bull?
If I’m being totally honest here, the flavor and effect that Red Bull has generally overwhelms the taste of the vodka that it’s paired with. You’ll still get some of that alcoholic bite on every sip, along with the welcome warming sensation that follows. Whatever your preferred brand of spirit is, that will mix just fine with the energy drink. If you’re picking a bottle out for the first time, you don’t have to overthink it or spend a ton of money. Find the price that you like and bring the vodka home.

FAQs & Tips
WHAT GLASSWARE IS USED?
To get the most out of this drink, fill a highball glass with ice and mix the two ingredients in, stirring gently.
CAN YOU STORE THE VODKA AND RED BULL?
No. Once you’ve made this cocktail, drink it. Saving it or storing it for any length of time will cause it to go flat, ruining the mixture.
HOW MANY CALORIES ARE IN A VODKA AND RED BULL?
Each serving you have will be around 241 calories. You can use a sugar-free Red Bull to cut that number down, if you like.
WHAT ELSE CAN BE USED INSTEAD OF RED BULL?
Not a fan of Red Bull? Well, if you use something else, this cocktail would no longer be a Vodka and Red Bull. But for the sake of argument, you can try other brands of energy drinks, like Bang, Monster, Zevia and Celsius. Many of these come in different flavors, so your drink has the potential for a wide variety of tastes.
