A fizzy and tart-tasting treat, the Orange Tea Shot will brighten your mood with a little whiskey and peach schnapps.

The moment they stepped into this run-down watering hole, the music stopped. All heads turned from their drinks and low conversations to stare at the dusty and road-worn stranger that just walked through a poor excuse for a door. On their head, a pair of flight goggles. Around their neck, a long silk scarf that hung in a gloriously ragged and elegant fashion. High and heavy boots thundered on the floorboards as the stranger sauntered up to the bar, swatting away grime off of a weathered leather aviator’s jacket.
A silence followed, with everyone in the tavern feeling slightly uneasy. Was this person a danger, or just another adventurer passing through their little hamlet on the way to whatever fortune and glory the wilds beyond potentially held? They would all discover soon enough.
A hand slammed down on the bar top, leaving behind some golden doubloons. The barkeep’s peepers widened as the light from the coins danced in the eyes of all who saw them. The stranger smiled slightly, and pleasantly intoned a few simple words.
“It’s tea time.”
The bartender eyed the stranger suspiciously, but smiled all the same, nodding their head. A shaker and a shot glass appeared, along with ice, some peach schnapps and a bottle of whiskey… which had an orange on the label. These elements were shaken together, poured in the little glass and then topped with a bubbly lemon-lime soda.
The thirsty stranger downed the shooter in one gulp, which was followed by a refreshed sigh. “I flew thousands of miles to have this Orange Tea Shot that all my compatriots keep talking about.”
The barkeep leaned in closer with anticipation. “And?”
The stranger lowered their goggles and started toward the door. Before exiting, they turned for a moment.
“I’ll be back for another.”
What Is The Best Whiskey To Use In An Orange Tea Shot?
For an Orange Tea Shot, we’ll need an orange-infused whiskey. Our recipe recommends a bottle of smooth and citrusy Jameson Orange, and that’s what I used when treating a few friends to this concoction. Cask & Crew also make an orange dram, and if you prefer bourbon, so does Jim Beam.

Ingredients
- 1/2 ounce orange-flavored whiskey like Jameson Orange
- 1/2 ounce peach schnapps
- 1/4 ounce sour mix
- 1/4 ounce lemon-lime soda to top
- 1 small orange wedge for garnish
Instructions
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the orange-flavored whiskey, peach schnapps, and sour mix.

- Shake well and strain into a shot glass.

- Top with a splash of lemon-lime soda and garnish with a small orange wedge.
