With an intense and full-bodied taste, the Liquid Cocaine Shot is a guaranteed eye-opener.

Right off the bat, I want to assure everyone reading this that there is absolutely nothing illicit or illegal found in this recipe. Despite being called the Liquid Cocaine Shot, there is not a single trace of cocaine used. If that was the case, there’d be a pounding on the door, and a flashy undercover cop, possibly in cowboy boots and aviator sunglasses, will come running in, calling you a dirtbag and telling you to tell it to the judge and to save it for the boys downtown. Or, a giant silver cyborg—part man, part machine, but all cop—will come stomping in, intoning about upholding the law and whatnot. Thankfully, this isn’t a hyper-exaggerated, glitzy action movie. And you’re not using anything unsavory. I hope.
The Liquid Cocaine Shot is definitely a memorable one, despite not having anything Charles Bronson would beat you up for in it. Instead, it’s a pretty wild mix of Jägermeister, strong rum, and two kinds of schnapps, cinnamon and peppermint. Powerful, funky, with notes of licorice and a fiery, minty finish, this shooter definitely sounds like something you’d slam after a heart-stopping action sequence. Maybe even before.
The full-bodied taste and powerful kick the shot has definitely had something to do with where its name came from. While nobody really knows what mad genius mixologist came up with the idea to combine these spirits together, I have a sneaking suspicion the movie Scarface might’ve been playing in the background at the time.
Because as I sip on one right now, I can’t help but think, “Say hello to my little friend.”
What Is The Best Alcohol To Use In A Liquid Cocaine Shot?
The four elements you’ll need to gather to craft this shot are all easy to find at your local liquor or grocery store. I know that in some places you can’t purchase alcohol at the supermarket, but a specialty store will have what you need. For the rum, I suggest using a clear and high-proof Wray & Nephew from Jamaica. Its funky and fruity notes will create quite the experience when mixed with the Jägermeister and schnapps you use.

Ingredients
- 1/2 ounce herbal liqueur like Jägermeister
- 1/2 ounce high-proof rum
- 1/4 ounce peppermint schnapps
- 1/4 ounce cinnamon schnapps
Instructions
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the herbal liqueur, high-proof rum, and both schnapps.

- Shake well for about 15 seconds.

- Strain into a shot glass and serve immediately.

WHAT GLASSWARE IS USED?
Chill some shot glasses in your freezer for up to 15 minutes before pouring your drinks in. This will give your shooters an extra smooth and cold texture.
WHAT EXACTLY IS COCAINE?
A stimulant that induces intense euphoria and, based on all the movies I’ve seen, overconfidence and paranoia, cocaine was once used for medicinal purposes and even featured as an early ingredient in Coca-Cola.

Other Shots Worth Trying
Not every specialty shooter is going to be as crazy an experience as the Liquid Cocaine Shot. Well, maybe a few of them will be, but that’s part of the fun. And while these recipes might take a little more effort than just pouring and gulping a spirit straight, the end results are always well worth the effort. Try out a few of these the next time your friends come over.
- Pink Starburst Shot – A sweet and sour vodka shooter, complete with pink sugar garnish.
- Pickle Shot – Until you’ve had one, you really don’t know what you’re missing.
- Kamikaze Shot – Another classic and powerfully citrusy shot.
- Cement Mixer Shot – Serve this at your next party and watch the fun begin.
- Red Snapper Shot – Whiskey, amaretto and cranberry juice craft this tart and nutty treat.
