How many times has this happened to you, or a friend?

You’re out on a Friday night, visiting your usual watering holes. Bar-hopping, pub crawling, whatever you want to call it, is the order of the evening. And as you and your compatriots spend just as much money on every jukebox you come across as you do on cocktails, you begin to crave something a little different and dessert-like. Naughty, even.

As you and your little crew roll down the busy city streets at the midnight hour, you suddenly remember reading about a saucily-named tipple, one that might be good to end the night with. Vodka, Irish cream and espresso liqueurs, some sweet nuttiness courtesy of amaretto, all topped with whipped cream and a cherry. An adult treat for sure, and one that makes your mouth water.

You walk into the next dive your group comes across, happily striding up to the surly barkeep who hasn’t smiled in two decades. You slap some money on the bar, excited to order as you remember the cheeky moniker the drink bears, shouting it out for all to hear.

This is a cream-filled, sweet, and slightly nutty-tasting concoction… and the less said about that description the better, especially considering this mixture’s name. Anyway, we’ll need some Irish cream, coffee liqueur, amaretto, and vodka to successfully shake up and serve a few Orgasms. Sweet and bitter notes will come from the cream and coffee elements, while amaretto provides a bit of almond, and all of this comes together in a balanced way with the crisp, clean-tasting bite of the vodka.

What glassware and garnish are used?

Pour your shaken cocktail into a rocks glass filled with ice, then garnish the top with whipped cream and a bright red maraschino cherry.

What is a Screaming Orgasm?

Technically, tonight’s recipe is the Screaming Orgasm because of the use of vodka, while a “classic” Orgasm usually just features the Irish cream, coffee liqueur and amaretto.
