Sounds a little naughty, but the Wet Pussy Shot is a sweet one.

How does one talk about anything that bears the name Wet Pussy? On the game-changing television series The Sopranos, there was a character that went by the name Big Pussy. Did he have a soggy brother? No. So, that’s not a route we can take.

Tonight’s recipe is equal parts vodka, peach schnapps and cranberry juice. Fruity, tart and with a nice, crisp finish, this shot is a crowd-pleaser. And once your guests start asking what the tasty shooters you’ve been serving are called, well… that’s when things can get a little tricky.

Depending on the crowd you have, you might blush a little, and then start hemming and hawing over the shot’s handle. For example, if you serve a few of these to your grandmother, maybe just leave the name alone when she asks. Or maybe Granny is a little frisky, and the blue-sounding moniker might just be the thing that makes her day.

Either way, when walking into a crowd with shots to hand out and bellowing “Who wants some Wet Pussies”, it’s probably best to know everyone in the room. And how cool your grandmother is.

I’ve tried to come up with an amusing anecdote about my cat getting wet and relating it to tonight’s recipe. Alas, that joke was a little dry, so I’ll just enjoy a Wet Pussy or two and think about that for a bit.

What Is The Best Alcohol To Use In A Wet Pussy Shot?

You can go with a flavored vodka when making this shot. With a variety of flavors ranging from vanilla to various fruits, you can experiment with the different notes that each will bring when mixed with the schnapps and cranberry juice. I prefer an unflavored vodka, which will elevate, as well as take on many of the qualities of the other ingredients. For the peach schnapps, there are a number of great brands to choose from, with DeKuyper Peachtree being the first one produced back in 1984.

WHAT GLASSWARE IS USED?

You can chill a standard shot glass in the freezer for around fifteen minutes before serving this shot.

WHY DO YOU DOUBLE-STRAIN COCKTAILS?

When you shake any cocktail over ice, it’s a good idea to double-strain the mixture when pouring. This will ensure that no teensy-tiny ice chips find their way into your drink, making each sip silky and smooth.
