Have a sweet and juicy companion at your next brunch with a Peach Mimosa.

A peach mimosa in a champagne flute, garnished with a raspberry, with a jigger.

There was nothing for miles around. Only rolling green hills that looked like emerald blankets thrown over a gaggle of sleeping giants nestled under a royal blue sky. In the center of this sprawling vista was a tree. Not too tall or short, but one with wide branches and a lush canopy. Beneath this tree sat a cute couple out of an old-timey storybook. He was tall and dashing, a handsome rogue. She was tiny and demure, with a smile that shone brighter than a thousand suns. She made him happy, she being so radiant.

He was nervous around her now. He was going to ask her to be his best gal, his forever love. It had been a year since they saw each other at the movies, and every time they’d see each other a little bit here and there since then, both their hearts would beat faster. So the handsome lad reached into the picnic basket he brought with them, and began to pour some champagne and orange juice, as Mimosas were one of her favorites. She giggled and blushed as he handed her a fizzy, bubbly glass, which clinked with his in a toast.

“Well”, he said with love, “here’s to us.”

A peach fell out of the tree, crashing into his drink and shattering it into a million pieces. Champagne and orange juice exploded everywhere, and his lovely lady friend quickly jumped up, surprised by the unexpected fruiting. Her tipple was still intact, but now had some peach within. So she sipped, and laughed as the poor young man sat on the ground, wet and embarrassed. She continued to enjoy her fresh Peach Mimosa as she sauntered off into the beautiful and picturesque scenery, quickly disappearing from his sight.

He scrambled to his feet and ran after her, but she was nowhere to be seen. Sitting some distance away on the grass beyond was her empty glass, with a lipstick kiss on the rim.

What is the best alcohol to use in a Peach Mimosa?

When pouring a few Peach Mimosas the next time you have a brunch at home, or even a garden party, make sure the sparkling wine you use is an extra-dry brut or blanc de blancs, as you don’t want the finished product to be overly sweet. Mixing with the peach and orange flavors, using a prosecco, cava, or champagne that fits this bill, will result in a refreshing and balanced beverage.

What glassware and garnish are used?

Serve your Peach Mimosa in an elegant and long-stemmed champagne flute, with a fresh peach slice on the rim or a raspberry dropped within for garnish.

Is it better to use peach nectar or juice?

Depends on how robust you want the peach flavor to be in your drink. Nectar will be thicker and sweeter, while the juice will be thinner, less sweet, but a little more intense in the flavor department.

What is a brunch without a Mimosa or three? Heck, sometimes I’ll just drink the Mimosas and call it a meal, because why not? It is the weekend after all.
